WinZip 6.2 Free Upgrade Information

All registered WinZip users can download a free upgrade to WinZip
6.2.  HOWEVER, PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY
TO DETERMINE WHICH FILE YOU NEED!

Once you acquire a copy of WinZip 6.2 you can use it within your
organization ONLY to upgrade LICENSED COPIES of WinZip, provided
that the upgraded versions are used under the terms of the
original License Agreement.  If you have questions send email to
one of the addresses below.

Note: the policy of free updates will continue for minor
improvements, but in the future there may be a charge for major
upgrades.

Before downloading your free upgrade first determine whether you
have a WinZip registration number.  Select "About WinZip" from
WinZip's Help pull-down menu.  If your name and registration
number are listed, just download and run the shareware evaluation
version of WinZip for a free upgrade.  The filenames are

    WINZIP95.EXE - Windows 95 version and Windows NT version
    WZ32V62.EXE  - alternate name for WINZIP95.EXE
    WINZIP31.EXE - Windows 3.1 version (Win16)
    WZ16V62.EXE  - alternate name for WINZIP31.EXE

These files are available from the following locations:

    CompuServe: GO WINZIP and download from the
                "WinZip Support" library (lib 17)
    Internet:   The WinZip Home Page http://www.winzip.com

If the WinZip About box says "This is a registered copy of WinZip"
but does not list your name, download one of the files listed
below.  After downloading the patch file simply run it (for
example, by double clicking on it in the File Manager or via the
Program Manager File/Run dialog box) and follow the on-screen
prompts.  The filenames are:

    WZPTCH32.EXE - Windows 95 version and Windows NT version
    WZPTCH16.EXE - Windows 3.1 version (Win16)

These files are available from the following locations:

                "WinZip Support" library (lib 17)
    Internet:   The WinZip Home Page http://www.winzip.com

Notes:

 * The patch works only on English language versions of WinZip.

 * The patch program modifies the WinZip program (executable)
   file.  If your virus scanner does not allow one program file to
   modify another, you may need to temporarily turn off virus
   protection while running the patch program.
